W&P Novices Fun 6 Bell Striking Competition and Training Event at Sherfield on Loddon, RG27 0JB (Basingstoke District)

On Saturday 4th October 2025.

After the success of last years competition, we are planning to run event to benefit the Guild’s learners who would benefit from rounds or call changes and are looking for help and support to boost their ability and confidence.
You can enter as a team of 6 ringers, or as an individual and we will assign you to a team. Please remember that in the spirit of the competition we are NOT expecting a team of experienced ringers to apply!
We will be limiting the event to 36 participants so please apply early. The competition will be either Rounds and Call Changes.

Planned Event Programme
11.15 – 12.15 – you meet at a designated tower for a practice session with your team mentor, provided by the organisers.
12.30 – 13.30 – buffet lunch and an opportunity to chat with fellow competitors. There will be limited seating so please munch and mingle.
13.30 – 15.00 approx – Fun Striking Competition with positive comments from friendly judges.

To be eligible for this event you must:
•Be a learner who would benefit from the experience of ringing in a competition
•Be competent to ring a bell unaided in Rounds and have some experience with call changes.

There will be a charge of £5 – £10 per participant, which will cover donations to towers and the cost of lunch etc.
