Basingstoke District Practice – Winchester Cathedral

We are really excited about our return trip to ring at Winchester Cathedral again this year.  Unlike the last few years, this time we will be taking one of the Wednesday night practice slots at the Cathedral on Wednesday 14th August. Ringing will be from 7:30pm – 9:00pm.

The Cathedral visits for the Districts have become extremely popular, and the Cathedral authorities have carried out a risk assessment and limited numbers in the ringing chamber to 50. As such, we are asking people who would like to come and ring to give their names to Nici no later than Friday 2nd August. Places will be first come, first served. We will also be operating a waiting list, so if you have signed up and are unable to make it, please let Nici know so someone else can take your space.

With the limit on numbers this year, we are asking for just ringers to sign up to give as many people as possible the opportunity to ring at the Cathedral.

I will be running the ringing during the evening, and we will be focussing on ringing Rounds and maybe some Call Changes on higher numbers, so this really is open to everyone within the District. If you have any worries about it, please let us know and we’ll be happy to speak to you.
