Earlier this year I sent an email to current subscribers to the 200 Club asking for their opinions on the future of the 200 Club. The general view was that it was no longer appropriate to run the 200 Club to support the Training & Development Fund following the changes made at the AGM in June. There was some preference for supporting youth ringing, and not to revert to supporting the BRF. This is because money given to the BRF can only be used for the BRF, as it is a charity, while money given to the Guild in general could be used for any suitable purpose, including the BRF if necessary.
With this in mind I have decided that I will close the 200 Club after one final draw at the November Executive Committee meeting, and give all remaining funds to the Training and Development Fund as originally intended. I shall keep hold of the draw tiles in case anyone wants to restart the Club, but will close the bank account once it is clear that all incoming payments have stopped. I would be happy to cooperate with setting up any future Club, but will not do so myself.
Thank you all for your support for the Club, which I estimate will have raised around £900 for the Training and Development Fund since 2017.
