We have welcomed a large number of new ringers into the Guild since Ring for the King, many of whom have asked about the sweatshirts and polo shirts bearing the W&P Guild logo. I am delighted to say I am very shortly putting in a new order.
Obviously, like nearly everything else in today’s world, prices have risen slightly since last time, but not by a huge amount; this is the first price rise to the Guild since 2016. Attached is the application form with all the details (both Word and pdf formats), including prices, colours and sizes, and methods of payment. However, you will see that the last day for the receipt of completed forms and payment is the Tuesday before Easter, 26th March, which doesn’t give you much time. The reason for this is that the suppliers are expecting price increases to be imposed by the manufacturers but, provided I can place the order BEFORE the end of March they will hold down the prices I have been able to negotiate with them. That really is a deadline and I cannot stretch it beyond that. Time, therefore, is of the essence!
The Ladies Polo Shirts are slightly shaped. However, if (like me!) you like a more relaxed fit which enables you to stretch upwards without displaying an expanse of bare midriff, you may prefer to go for the Men’s Polo Shirts; these have straight sides and a little more wriggle-room.
Unfortunately not every colour is available in every size so please check the details carefully. Sizes are fairly generous but I have some sweatshirts and polo shirts of my own if anybody wants to see and try.
I’m conscious of the fact that many ringers are youngsters who grow out of clothing very quickly and it can be an expensive business for families to buy a garment which they know will be outgrown long before it is outworn. If, therefore, you wish to send in something they already have, you will see there is an option to have the Guild logo embroidered on it at a nominal cost, which might prove a more economical option. It needs to be a fabric which is not flimsy, slippery, or too stretchy, as these will not go through the machines satisfactorily. Please get in touch with me first.
Garments should be received from the supplier during mid-May and I will aim to get them out as quickly as possible, certainly before the Guild AGM. In the past I have been able to take them to different towers or Districts, meet people half way, or arrange collection, in order to minimise transport costs, but there is the option to post items direct to you if you need them quickly; sadly I have no control over increased postal costs.
On the basis that many of our newer ringers may not yet be subscribing to the win-port list, it would be appreciated if you would pass these details on to them a.s.a.p. As always, I can always be contacted with any queries before orders are placed and payments made via this link.
