This year the Guild is planning to run an event to benefit the Guild’s learners who have not taken part in a striking competition at Guild level and are looking for help and support to boost their ability and confidence.
You can enter as a team of 6 ringers, or as an individual and we will assign you to a team. Please remember that in the spirit of the competition we are NOT expecting a team of experienced ringers to apply!
We will be limiting the event to 36 participants so please apply early. The competition will be Rounds and Call Changes.
Event Programme
15.00 – 16.00 – you meet at a designated tower for a practice session with your team mentor, provided by the organisers.
16.30 – 17-30 – Tea and an opportunity to chat with fellow competitors.
17.30 – 19.30 approx – Fun Striking Competition with positive comments from friendly judges.
To be eligible for this event you must:
•Have not taken part in a Guild level striking competition.
•Be competent to ring a bell unaided in Rounds and have some experience with call changes.
There will be a charge of £5 per participant, which will include donations to towers and the cost of tea.
