This is an election year and all Guild officers are up for election at the AGM on 14th June. There were already vacancies for General Secretary and Public Relations Officer, and the Master, Peal Recorder, Report Editor and three Central Council Representatives have advised that they are not seeking re-election.
The current Vice-Master is offering himself for election as Master and there is a candidate for Vice-Master. The General Treasurer, Minute Secretary, Librarian & Archivist, Safeguarding Officer, two Central Council Representatives, the Independent Examiner and both Bell Restoration Fund Trustees are prepared to offer themselves for re-election.
We are in urgent need of candidates for General Secretary, Peal Recorder, Report Editor and three Central Council Representatives. You do not need to be an experienced ringer and will certainly have other skills you could bring to the job. Most important is willingness and enthusiasm. If you have benefited from your Guild membership, please consider offering yourself for election.
Just to reiterate that all Guild officers are up for election and if you would like to stand for any position you should not be dissuaded by someone else also being prepared to take on that role. Contested elections are a sign of a flourishing society!
